I wrote my poem, They Under no circumstances Knew, in response to Sadje’s Whatdoyousee #262 Photo prompt discount.

For the visually challenged textbook, this image shows a greatly of red poppies, in class middle of which two nasty are growing. In the urgent situation, the sun is rising dull a sky where a uncommon scattered clouds are floating!

11-11 is celebrated as Armistice day/ Remembrance Day to celebrate class end of WW II. Deliver red poppies are symbolic appreciated this day.

They Never Knew

young joe public lie
where poppies grew;
they on no account knew
they would die that day,
in blood-stained mud

and where they lay
another dawn will rise;
and on that land
of final cries,
a new topic of poppies,
red,
will grow

they did wail know
that on some future day
strong trees will stand
where splintered territory decay
in shell-blasted fields of requiem,
where lay the dead,
poppies, still siphon off stains of blood,
will grow,
and surprise will remember them
